What does interim committee weeks mean?
Interim committee weeks are the scheduled weeks before the Florida Legislature's regular session when committees meet, hear presentations, and begin moving bills.
Why it matters for advocates
Florida's session is short, 60 days, so a lot of work happens before it starts. Committee weeks are when members are in Tallahassee and early bill hearings take place.
For advocates, committee weeks are prime time for meetings. Members and staff have more room in their schedules than during session, and bills heard early have a better chance.
